| All Beings are Connected |
They both ended up with the message of hope, peace, and love for everyone, and World Peace for the future. But, their combined thoughts on our contentedness resonates still.
Being content with the now in our lives is the answer... Not with what we have or gain materially, but with who we are from the center of our being. To know that we are enough just as we were created is the answer to all judgement. When someone tells you that you aren't enough or that you weren't what they wanted in a friend or family member, revisiting that center of yourself allows you to breath in peace and wellness. It's actually a peaceful feeling when you naturally offer the same to this person, then, with every exhale.
A person who attacks you, emotionally, is showing you who they are and what they feel about themselves right now. They are not content. They are not happy. They believe the lies the world has told them about themselves, and are searching for a way to make it about someone else. When they zero in on you, they think they feel better.
This is not to say that you don't make wrong decisions and mistakes which affect others. It is to say when you know yourself, and make it a practice to revisit that place inside which keeps you grounded with humility, authenticity, and awareness, actions which cause discontent, are likely non intentional.
Usually when we react negatively, it's because of a bruised ego, or when a flashback of past abuse has prompted a defense mechanism. Those things got us through childhood, but as adults we learn more sophisticated ways of dealing with conflict. We are allowed to voice our opinion directly - so we should. We have no reason to fear judgement for doing this, or to fear the loss of real affection from a friend or family members. Real feelings can't be destroyed by truth.
If we confront a person that we care about with love and honesty, and they react negatively - they are not ready to put their own childhood aside. They are not going to grow right then and there and all of the sudden get that you are caring about them - you must let it all go. No need to mention that when they feel differently they can contact you, or trying to explain your intentions. They know that you are harmless. Their struggle is with themselves and either they will grow in life and reconnect with you on a honest level at sometime or they will not. You must leave it all up to fate from then on. Great for them if they get better... okay with you one way or the other.
Grieving harmful relationships is easier when you understand all of this - it really is. It goes so much quicker in comparison to the years you spent trying to reach their real self, heart, and soul. Those years weren't wasted, but long. You and they learned and will continue to learn from those experiences shared. I guess when we do finally grow up in life, the learning comes so much easier, quicker, and is so much more productive.
I breathe in this peace and breathe out the same.... And I find so much more room in my life. The freedom I think is what really surprises me. The feeling of being free from oppression and depression (anger) just washes over me all the time during this process.
I feel that contentment that the speakers were talking about, and it IS life changing. Whatever it took to get to where I am with all of this was worth it - Being content in life, in the now, with everything and everyone, seems the simple secret to happiness.
